TechShop and CodaKid Minecraft Code-A-Thon in Chandler

Here's some interesting photos of a recent trip to the TechShop in Chandler, AZ for a CodaKid Code-A-Thon teaching kids coding for Minecraft.

This is a chess set made there using 3D printing

Tempe Public Library

There's covered parking in the lot directly across from the big sculpture.

View of the stairs to the lower level where the kids and teens sections are and the activity rooms for those age groups. Straight ahead is the computer lab section.
This is a great little bookstore inside the library with really affordable books including a Pokemon video game guide we picked up for the kids for $1. It's directly to the left when you walk in the front doors.
The Tempe Connection is the library's cafe. They serve sandwiches, snacks, coffees and some blended drinks. The chai latte was great and the people who work there were the sweetest.
Notice the WiFi sign on the counter, there's free WiFi you just have to check out the latest password to log in.
These are the Culture Passes. You can take a card to the checkout desk and receive free tickets for things like the Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Art Museum, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, and Botanical Garden but they go quickly so keep an eye out for your favorite. This station is by the Tempe Connection Cafe on the main level.
If you go down the stairs you'll find the Teen Center:

Head through here to the children's and young adult section:

Spring Training Baseball at Tempe Diablo Stadium

This is the grass seats section at theTempe Diablo Stadium at 2200 West Alameda Drive
If you follow the grass seats all the way to the back there is a cute little area for the kids to play under the trees while the parents are watching the game.
This is the view from the back of the grass seats row.
View from the back of the grass seats section.
View of some kids playing the clearing at the end of the grass seats row. You can't see the game from back there but the kids seem to have a lot of fun just running around and playing their own game of ball.
Remember to bring a ball and a glove to play some catch.
A little secret, at the end of the game they open that gate in the back and you can walk right out into the parking lot if that's the side you parked on.
